Well, the author is being satirical, but he's probably speaking based on his experiences as a young man...and some men never grow out of that phase!

Anyway, men are good for a lot, I think. I'm grateful for a lot of the men in my life.

But I've chosen not to have one as my life partner - even though I'm heterosexual. I've just seen too much bad behavior from men whose wives thought they could trust them! I'm not opening up my life to that! It's like going into business with a crack addict - it's just not going to end well!
