This is true. I lived in Asia for 7 years, and once I was gently teasing an acquaintance for living with his parents - he was 35 years old and had always lived there, his mom still cooked for him and did his laundry, etc.

When I was done doing the typical American chiding, he looked me square in the eye and said, "Why should I move out from my parents house? They would miss me, and my life would be harder. This is a better arrangement for all of us. I love my mom's cooking and she loves my company and I help pay the bills. I'm not moving out just because some people think living there makes me a loser."

And damn, that guy was right. Also, very cute. And right, goddamnit!
