Point 1: it makes sense that women initiate divorce more often, because marriage is more beneficial to men.

Point 2: It makes sense that women get custody more often, because women do more of the childcare while married. (this actually used to be the MRA point I was most sympathetic to, but then I met a (male) divorce lawyer who informed me that whoever spends the most time/takes the most care of the kids before the divorce tends to get custody after the divorce, regardless of gender. Women are taking more responsibility, so they get more custody, which is better for the children because being wrenched from a primary care-giver can be catastrophic for a child. If the man is the primary caregier, he should get custody. So the answer is for men to spend more time with their kids, full stop.)

Point 2: Women actually suffer more, financially, after a divorce, probably because they take care of the kids more, and that’s unpaid work. Guys say “she took all my stuff” but the fact is that she had less opportunity to earn because she was putting her effort toward taking care of kids/house (even if she worked) and as a couple they probably prioritized his career while downplaying hers. After the divorce, she’s STILL taking care of the kids more, which hurts her career, and his child support doesn’t even begin to bridge that gap (https://www.unhappymarriage.info/men-vs-women-who-fares-better-in-a-divorce/
