Oh, honey, you and me both! I too regret that about my country. All the self-righteous protestations! “We’re a beacon to the nations! We’ll put sanctions on destitute countries for human rights violations (but then we’ll commit them ourselves)!”

I know the rhetoric makes it sound like all Americans are woefully ignorant of our own country’s hypocrisy, but many of us are aware of the problems here— we just feel powerless and don’t know what to do to fight it =(
