I turn 40 next week and have found much of this to be true for myself.
I think we benefitted from a low-tech childhood, but are still fairly adept with tech, so that’s nice. But if your parents and grandparents were wealthy, it’s pretty discouraging to feel like you won’t do as well as they did, even if you work as hard. So I think a lot of us have forged our own paths, eschewing some of the traditional markers of success. As for me and my house, we choose to live in a van!
