I put you in the same category as them. A person who loves to point to "the other" and claim all of our problems are THEIR fault. Born into a different situation, you'd be a racist. Another situation? Anti-semetic. Found yourself in Rwanda in the mid-90s? You'd be slaugthering Tutsis and Hutus with the best of them. I'd guess you're probably low-level sexist right at this moment. From what I've read here, you've just got that personality.

It's not the particulars (political party, in this instance) that make the problem - it's that attitude, where you refuse to look at the individuals and the details, only listen to their arguments through your own pundits, then get off on your superiority.

Congrats!

edit: ok, that was a bit of an exaggeration. I don't know that you'd be killing Tutsis, I don't even know you.

Look, conservatives, especially far-right Trump supporters, drive me up the fucking wall, and I have to listen to that utter bullshit all the time (I listened to my mom call Obama "Obummer" or "zero" for years and I would just tell her how stupid she sounded and ask her to raise her level of discourse a little bit. When she started calling Biden "baby Joe" I gave in and started calling Trump "Cheeto Jesus" and that finally shut her up. Is that really the answer?) The thing is, my mom's not actually stupid. I know the above anecdote makes her sound stupid, but she's not. She's just learned that this is how to effectively participate in America's fucked up political process.

Nobody's more frustrated than I am.

But if you write them all off as "just dumb" it's going to be a hell of a lot harder to solve the problem. You're just participating in the same stuff. Demonizing and hating the other party is just a distraction. We need all hands on deck to solve ACTUAL problems.
