Funny you'd ask, my brakes are starting to make a funny sound so it's probably about time to head to the mechanics...

If I were a responsible adult, I'd have money in reserve for mechanical problems. But alas, I'm not. I've been on the "only work when I have to" train for the past decade, and it worked great for me for the majority of that time. I had zero debt, and I'm just not one to buy a lot of stuff - so it's really only food and gas money that I need (and if I didn't feel like working, I just didn't drive or eat as much ;)

But last year my dog got sick and medical bills added up to about $10,000, and watching my companion of 12 years deteroriate was pretty depressing, so I wasn't working as much...anyway, I've got about $1000 to pay off from her medical bills, and I'll be debt free again!

The whole experience really opened my eyes. I've got to work more, and save more money for my future. Flying by the seat of my pants was fun while it lasted, but I need to think about the future.

And by "work more," it'll probably still only add up to 10-15 hours a week =0

I know, I know... slacker.
