Agreed, but it kind of seems like a small price to pay for serious time in nature.

And I guess I'm not very vigilant. I'm way out alone in the middle of the desert right now, and another van with 2 men pulled up nearish me yesterday, and I just ignored them (wasn't really worried) and then they left this morning.

i think most fears of danger are overblown. Maybe I'm slightly more likely to be the victim of violent crime out here...but I'm not going to let it worry me.
